Meet the Founder

Hi, I am Tricia Abernathy, founder and gal behind all things MNOVB. After a decade in Raleigh, my family moved back to Virginia Beach to plant roots. I started this community on a whim to do what I do best and that is to share my personal favorite products and small businesses with anyone and everyone and to bring people together.

As a new mom it became increasingly apparent that a lot of us were struggling to pencil in time for ourselves and then follow through. My goal was to mix my love for small locally owned, often minority owned businesses with a solution to the lack of elevated get togethers for girlfriends in the Tidewater area.

Our Why

I set out to create a consistent gathering for mamas; same place, same time, same 3rd Wednesday of the month, and same stress free parking situation in hopes that moms on auto-pilot would be more likely to commit. I partnered with small businesses who I have admired over the years and then MNOVB was launched!

MNO VB continues to grow quickly! We now have 3-4 events per month ranging from creative, to educational, workouts and most recently, spouse/kid welcome community gatherings like the First Annual North End 5K Turkey Trot.
